VPNHill Quick Start
From account setup to exit-location checks. Get your subscription in the user dashboard, then add it to the device you want to use.
Create an account and open the user dashboard
Use the account link below to open the VPNHill user dashboard and create an account. No email address is required—just choose a username and password. Pick a username that is easy to remember but does not reveal sensitive personal information. Do not reuse a password from another website, and store it securely in your password manager.
Check your entries before submitting, especially capitalization and accidental spaces. Follow the on-screen steps to reach the account overview. If you land on the login page, sign in with the username and password you just created. Access to the user dashboard confirms that you can use your account; it does not mean your plan is active or that a device is connected. Next, choose a plan in the same account and get the corresponding subscription.
If you already have an account, simply sign in—there is no need to create another one for a different device. VPNHill supports unlimited devices, and you can use the same account subscription on supported platforms. Keep your password and subscription link private; do not share them in public notes or group chats.
Choose a plan and confirm your order
Open the plans section in the user dashboard, decide how you want to use the service, then compare data allowances. For regular use, consider a monthly plan: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Monthly data resets each month on your activation date, not on a fixed calendar date. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Streaming usage varies with viewing habits and video quality, so watch time alone is not a reliable way to estimate data use.
If your usage varies, compare the data packages: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. Data packages do not expire and remain available until used. The main difference from a monthly plan is how billing and data usage work—not how you install the client. Whichever option you choose, get your subscription from the user dashboard.
Before paying, check the price, data allowance, and billing method shown in your order. Then use the Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT option provided on the page. After payment, return to the user dashboard and check the order status and plan details in your account overview. If payment shows as complete but the dashboard has not updated, refresh the order status and check the transaction record. Do not create the same order again or pay twice.
VPNHill offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the Terms of Service for details. Once your plan shows as active in your account, continue to get your subscription. Installing a client repeatedly will not confirm an order that is still pending.
Get your subscription and prepare to import it
Return to the account overview in the user dashboard and find the subscription details or client import option. The subscription link lets your client retrieve routes and related settings; it is not a regular webpage or an installer. Whether it opens in a browser is not a reliable way to tell if your connection is working.
If the dashboard offers an import option for your client, use it first. Your browser may ask whether to open the client. Check that it is the right app, allow it to open, then accept the import in the client. If nothing happens, make sure the client is installed and has been opened at least once, then copy the link and import it manually. Avoid clicking repeatedly, which could create duplicate configurations.
To import manually, copy the complete subscription link into the subscription address field in your client. Make sure you include the entire link and do not paste any explanatory text, quotation marks, or extra line breaks with it. After importing, update the subscription and enable the configuration. Saving the link without updating it may leave the route list empty.

If you need help with an import issue, share the client name, platform, error message, and step where it occurred. Hide the subscription address and account credentials in screenshots. Once you have the link, go to the next section and choose your device platform.
Import your subscription and enable it on your platform
The client reads your subscription and connects you; the user dashboard manages your account, plan, and subscription. Get the app for your system from the dashboard's client section, then return to the account overview to import your configuration. Do not try to install a desktop installer on a mobile device, and do not choose an import format just because its name looks similar.
You can get a client for Android, Windows, macOS, or Linux after signing in, without purchasing a plan. Getting the app and using a subscription are separate steps. The iOS download option has an additional plan-status requirement; see the instructions below. This page does not link directly to installers—all client downloads are available in the user dashboard.
Windows: Find the subscription option in your desktop client
In the dashboard's client section, select Windows and get the VPNHill desktop client provided there. Install it as instructed. If the system asks you to confirm network permissions the first time you open the app, check the app's source and the permission details, then follow the client's instructions. For now, avoid running other network proxy tools at the same time, so you can tell which app is changing your connection.
Return to the account overview and use the matching import option. To do it manually, find “Configuration,” “Subscription,” or “Add subscription” in the client, choose the option to import from a link, paste the full address, and save it. Then update the subscription. Once the route list appears, set the newly imported configuration as active. If you have an older configuration, make sure the new subscription is selected before opening the route list.
macOS: Import first, then approve network access
Select the VPNHill desktop client for macOS in the dashboard, install it, and open the app. Depending on your system version and client, the first connection may ask you to approve a network extension or connection configuration. Follow the instructions displayed by the app and your system; you do not need to look for a specific toggle that may not match your interface.
To import, launch the app from the user dashboard or add a remote subscription on the client's configuration or subscription management page. Paste the link, save it, and update the subscription. Once the routes appear, enable the configuration. Note the difference between “configuration enabled” and “connection on”: the first selects the subscription to use; the second starts the connection. If the system is still waiting for approval, complete the prompt before continuing with verification.
Android: Import your subscription and allow the VPN connection
Select the VPNHill mobile client for Android in the dashboard. Install and open the app, then use the import option in the user dashboard in your browser. If the browser cannot open the app, copy the subscription link and choose the URL import option on the client's subscription or configuration page.
Save the link, update the subscription, and set the imported configuration as active. When you select a route and connect, Android may ask for permission to set up a VPN connection. Confirm that the request comes from the client you just installed, then allow the connection. The VPN status icon can be a useful indicator, but you should still test web access and check your exit location. If the connection stops when you switch back to the app, check the system's background activity settings for the app before deleting and re-adding the subscription.
iOS: Open the App Store download option from the dashboard
In the user dashboard's client section, select iOS and follow the instructions to open the App Store listing for the client. The iOS download link is available only to accounts with an active, purchased plan. If the dashboard says your plan does not meet the requirements, return to the account overview and check its status. App availability may also depend on your App Store account region; follow the dashboard instructions and check the store listing.
After installing the app, return to the user dashboard and try the matching import option, or add a remote link on the client's configuration or subscription management page. Once imported, update the subscription and select the configuration. When you connect, allow the system prompt to add a VPN configuration. Do not install an arbitrary downloaded profile as a subscription link; subscriptions should be read by the client. After approving the system prompt, return to the app, check the configuration and connection status, then test access.
For Linux, get the corresponding client from the user dashboard and follow its platform-specific import instructions. For more on subscription formats, split tunneling, and route types, see the Streaming Guide. For your first connection, follow the steps on this page; there is no need to change several advanced settings at once.
Connect to a route and verify access and exit location
Open the client with your configuration enabled, go to the route list, and choose a route that matches the region of your target website or content library. Then connect. For your first session, keep the client's recommended default mode and avoid changing routes, DNS, and split tunneling at the same time. Change one setting at a time so you can tell what made a difference.
First, check that the client reports a successful connection, then open a familiar website to confirm basic access. Next, visit our IP checker to see your exit location, keeping the client's current mode in mind. In rule-based routing mode, different websites may take different routes, so the exit shown by one test page may not represent every app. A status icon alone does not prove all traffic is using the same route.
Next, open your streaming platform, search for the title you want to watch, and try playing it. Website access, the expected content library, and successful playback at your desired quality are separate checks. Your account region, content licensing, plan permissions, device playback capabilities, and network conditions can all affect the result. Seeing a different exit location does not guarantee that every title will play or that you will get higher video quality.
If the client will not connect, check that you approved the system permissions, enabled the configuration you just imported, and can update the subscription. If the client says it is connected but the target website still fails, first check whether regular websites work, then review the route region and client mode. If you need to try another route, start with one in the same target region and test the destination app again. Do not create another account or place a duplicate order just because you see an error.
If you still cannot identify the problem, open a support ticket in the user dashboard and include your device operating system, client name, selected route region, exact error message, and whether the issue occurs during import, connection, or playback. Do not share your password or full subscription link. For a deeper look at content-library regions, native IPs, playback quality, and common errors, see the Streaming Guide. To complete this guide, import the subscription, connect the client, and verify access with a real visit.
